I’m on the trail!

This week sees the publication of the fabulous ‘Adopt An Artist’ and yarn bombing trail leaflet for the Taunton Live Arts Festival 2018 … and I’m on the trail at locations 10 and 28!

Location 10 is the wonderful Polkadot Gallery jewellery shop in Riverside Place, just off St James’s Street, where I will have a selection of quilled and paper bead jewellery on display (and for sale!) during the whole month of July. It’s a real privilege for me to be able to show my work in such a prestigious location.  I am extremely grateful to Festival organiser Jenny Keogh for arranging this ‘adoption’ placement (which came as a completely unexpected surprise!), and also to Gallery Manager, Sarah Joblin, for welcoming me so warmly.

Location 28 is the beautiful parish church of St Mary Magdalene in Church Square where I will be displaying a new collection of quilled collage pictures from 19th July until 2nd August.  This will be my second ‘adoption’ by the church where I also displayed my work during the Festival in 2016, and it is a real honour to have been asked to return once again.  Some of the pictures I will be showing have already been showcased here on my blog in earlier posts, all tagged with the label ‘Insignia collection’.

If you are in Somerset next month, I do hope that you will take the opportunity to follow the Festival trail and see the amazing creative work that will be on show all around Taunton.  If you visit four ‘Adopt An Artist’ locations, you can even enter a competition to win the prize of an original piece of art by Jenny Keogh – see details below:

If you are coming to the Festival, you also won’t want to miss the Big Saturday on 21st July where I will be demonstrating quilling in the Artists’ Quarter in Goodlands Gardens alongside many other talented participants. There will be food and a programme of live entertainment too.  I just can’t wait …
